Email Deployment

Email Marketing is one of the most common internet marketing initiatives.

If done correctly it provides a solid ROI, if done incorrectly you will alienate prospects/customers and be labeled a spammer which will get your company emails blocked from most recipients.

Your emails must be CAN-SPAM compliant or you will be labeled a spammer.

Internet Consulting, Inc. will be happy to handle your email deployment and/or connect you with vetted email deployment vendors.

Here is a a quick list of CAN-SPAM's main requirements:

  1. Don't use false or misleading header information.
  2. Don't use deceptive subject lines.
  3. Identify the message as an ad.
  4. Tell recipients where you're located.
  5. Tell recipients how to opt out of receiving future emails from you.
  6. Honor opt-out requests promptly.
Here is a link to the Federal Trade Commission CAN-SPAM Compliance Guide for more details.

In addition to being CAN-SPAM compliant, email design and deployment is not as easy as one would think.  Download the free "Top 20 Essential Email Marketing Tips" PDF available on this web page.

For example, with most email deployment software you cannot purchase a list and send emails to prospects/clients, if they have not given permission or are not opt-in subscribers.

If you purchase lists your legitimate email marketing options are to use a company like Clickback MAIL or have the company you purchased your leads list through handle your email deployment (such as GoLeads, infoUSA, or DatabaseUSA). There are other top tier vendors out there - but you better be sure of the lists you purchase and the way your emails are deployed.

I, Jordan Weiner - owner of Internet Consulting, Inc., have personally ran into some shady characters selling lists and/or promising to handle my email campaigns.  From vendors that on the surface look credible and rank well on the top search engines!

If you use the wrong email deployment providers you will cause harm to your domain authority and be labeled a spammer.   This will result in all your business emails ending up in Junk or SPAM folders - once this is done it is hard to clean up.

If you use credible email software vendors like MailChimp, iContact, AWeber, Constant Contact, and other leading email deployment software - they clearly state you cannot send to purchased lists ... and they mean it.  In fact, unless you are able to prove your client emails where opt-in then you can't send to these lists either.

The below vendors listed on Internet Consulting, Inc.'s site are safe/vetted (and good people that will genuinely help you if you reach out to them).  These are proven ways to send to cold or purchased contacts - and only if done correctly.

In addition to going through a variety of anti-spam risk checks (which removes all bad email addresses and spam traps to ensure your message gets delivered to actual people) you need to follow best practices in email delivery.

You must cleanse and validate your emails prior to sending, or you risk having a high bounce rate, or having your emails routed to junk or spam folders - which will also hurt your domain credibility.  (Clickback MAIL does your list cleaning, validating, and removes duplicate records for you - if you want to do this yourself there are list cleansing and validating do-it-yourself tools in the below tabs).

If you are handling your email deployment you must know:

  1. Valid (verified real address),
  2. Invalid (verified as not valid),
  3. Catchall (a domain-wide setting),
  4. Unknown (server that cannot be reached) and
  5. Disposable (a temporary, disposable address).
You better know how to scrub your list - remove duplicate emails and emails with bad syntax (such as typos and spaces based on RFC standards).

If you send out ongoing email campaigns you need to remove the recipients that never open your emails.  This will probably be approximately 65%, no matter how good you think your data is.  Per the need to build a good rapport with leading leads lists providers.

You should profile your target audience(s) and invest time, efforts, and a reasonable spend for the ongoing evolution of your leads lists and email marketing.  This will help jump-start your quality internet lead generation.

Clickback WEB is a recommended software that helps you identify email addresses from companies that visit your website but don't fill out a form or contact you.  You should be sending lead nurturing emails to the companies that visit your website to keep you top of mind and facilitate engagement.
